Windows 10: something blocking p2p connections

Hello, it appears something on my pc is blocking my p2p connections. I can't play No man's sky in multiplayer failed to join lobby, no one can join me and I can't join anyone. At first I thought it was something with No man's, but Parsec also isn't working. I can't connect to people and they can't connect to me.I have Windows 10 Pro and I use Kaspersky premium. - I disabled both Windows defender and Kaspersky- Reinstalled both apps - Set inbound and outbound rules on both of them- Changing group policy rules for p2p Can't be my router because I use the same network on my laptop, and it works

How does WUDO update work when the network firewall blocks P2P?

I am a volunteer Wi-Fi administrator for an RV park with many long term residents. Our network firewall blocks P2P traffic.

What happens when a user has the default P2P enabled for Windows Update Delivery Optimization?

Does the update fail?

Does the Delivery Optimization fall back to the traditional client-server model?

Does anyone know which P2P protocol is used?

 

Blocking Torrenting

to effectively block torrent, you need to define fire-walling rules that are based on layer 7 pattern and packet content matching - which i doubt that your switch is capable of.

consider a mikrotik or any powerful router to get it done.

shall you deploy a mikrotik, all you need to do is add this rules to firewall:

• drop packet that are matching to a L7 pattern of torrents packet (use built in feature: p2p=all-p2p) - this will keep classic - non secure - torrents connection out
  
• block outgoing DHT from your network (packets containing "d1:ad2:id20:" with packet size from 95 to 190 and in a udp protocol)
  
• block outgoing torrent announce (packets containing "info_hash" in a tcp protocol format)
  

 

Windows 10 update with P2P (peer-to-peer) enabled (Delivery Optimization) kills the whole Internet connectivity - which ports to block?

Since Windows 10 we are challenging huge difficulties in Internet connection quality. Whenever there pops up a computer in the network which is just updating itself via Windows update (with P2P setting (Delivery
Optimization) enabled (even "LAN only")) the whole network in the location "goes down". That means horrible connection quality, even just surfing the web is a problem.

I am speaking about places/houses with 10Mbit symetric connections. Immediately after disconnecting the PC from the network, it works normally.
Windows 10 P2P updates is the only source of trouble in the network. Even massive FTP Up/Down usage and/or HD Youtubeing does not cause issues - the connection is just slow, but usable.

I've already disabled the Delivery Optimization via GPO, but the problem is with private computers, which are not in our domain/management

We have no application-layer firewall available, have to stick with "simple" FW capabilities (ports). We have central physical FW installed, though.

  Is there any possibility how to block it effectively using ports on central Firewall?

  Does it use some non-changing ports? Which ones?

  What about updating via standard Microsoft servers - would it be affected?
