Windows 10: "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your pin again" Help?!

This message has popped up out of nowhere today, I've tried following other posts similar to this such as the below " https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/something-happened-and-your-pin-isnt-available/5365fc65-27a9-4ec6-b9c3-032b54da50f9 "My issue is, when I try and follow this advice, it asks me for the password to my account. I've tried over and over but can't seem to remember it. I've tried all my usual passwords but none of them seem to work.I tried to follow the forgot password link, but the advice states I need to log in to change it... Something which I can't do a

Pin Login not available and can't change or remove my pin

Hi Saschavan,

To help you disable your PIN login, kindly follow the steps below:

• Go to this location: Settings/Accounts/Sign-in options
• Check the PIN options and click the I forget my PIN available to click?
  
• Enter your password, it will prompt you to enter a new PIN.
• Click Cancel and your PIN should be disable upon reboot.

Since you have a Microsoft account, you should see this instead
Microsoft account sign-in options




If this doesn't work, there are other procedures available to consider.
--- Some of them include registry changes.
--- Are you familiar with working in the registry?

BTW, have you saved your data along with a system image backup ready?
