Windows 10: Something happened with PIN, but it won’t take me anywhere to set it up again.

After opening my laptop, I find a blue screen that locked me out asking for a Bitlocker recovery key. I never heard of or had set up Bitlocker, but was thankfully able to find the key when logging in on my phone. But once I did, I was led back to my normal Home Screen, but brought with the message, “Something happened and your PIN isn’t available. Click to set up your PIN again.”I go to click it, and nothing happens. I forgot/ don’t think I set up another password besides the PIN, but when I go to reset password, it shows a pop up saying,”This feature requires removable media, such as a USB fl

cortana won`t talk to me

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

• Check and verify if Cortana is activated?
• Does Cortana search and gives any output/result on screen?
• Is the Language and region settings set to valid value?
• Check and verify if Cortana available in your region?

Method 1:

I suggest you to try to turn Cortana off and then try turning it on back and check if she talks. Refer to the steps below to turn Off and On Cortana:

• Open Cortana.
• Click the hamburger button in the top left of the window.
• Go to Settings and click on off.
• Follow the same steps to turn it on.
• Check if issue persists.

Cannot set a W10 PIN after Anniversary Update

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing while setting the PIN. I will certainly help you.

To assist you better please let us know the complete error code/message as mentioned while setting the PIN.

It could happen due to some corrupt files.

I suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps in order to fix the issue, and check if it helps:

• Please navigate to the below path:[C: drive here refers to the drive containing the
  Operating System]C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC
• Delete all the content of the NGC
  folder.
• Restart the computer, and now try setting the PIN again.
