Windows 10: Something has changed with my printer availability after updating to Win10 20H2

I have a usb printer attached to my desktop pc that I used to be able to print to wirelessly from any of my laptops with win10 pro 2004.

All pcs are now using win10 pro 20H2.

File and printer sharing is enabled on all pcs.

The printer works normally when printing from the desktop. If I try to send a print job from any of my laptops, it can see the shared desktop in the network folder but can't find the printer it's set to default on all pcs. I've tried turning file and printer sharing off then back on but it hasn't solved the issue.


Any ideas on what else I can try or is this a new windows bug?

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Adding unlisted printer to the Win10 list

!'m not sure how I did it but all seems well now. It was something like Deacon suggested plus a re-boot or two. It's now listed as a printer, not as unspecified.





Update the list still doesn't work.

No printer drive available for Printer under Devices and Printer

We understand that you see “No drivers available” for printer under Devices and Printers in Control Panel. However, it would be great if you can help us with the details requested below:

• What is the make and model of the printer?
  
• Are you able to print documents using the printer?
  
• When you say, “Is this why my fax isn't working” what happens when you try to use fax?
  
• How is the printer connected to the computer?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  
• May I know which update was installed recently? To check go to
  Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> View update history.
  

We would suggest you to check if the drivers are installed on the computer or not. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Printers and see if the printer is listed.
   

If the printer driver is not installed, we would suggest you to download the drivers from the printer manufacturer’s website and install them.
