  1. something is blocking my port with windows defender disabled

I know this is a common problem, usually because people either have a double NAT, or they didn't port forward properly. This is not the issue in my case and let me explain.BACKGROUND:I have my main router router 1 and a secondary old router router 2 on my network. The pc i would like to port forward to is connected to router 2. so it goes: internet > Router 1 > Router 2 > Target PC.I am pretty sure i DO NOT have a double NAT, as on router 2, DHCP and firewall is disabled, and on Router 1's settings page the target PCs ip address 192.168.0.239 is displayed as a connected ethernet

    :)

    Port is being blocked

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

    • Are you aware of any changes that happened on the computer prior to this issue?

Upon researching, this seems like an issue due to the port scan. You may want to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

    • Login to your Netgear
      NX6200 Extender GUI
      .
    • Click on Advanced tab and choose
      WAN Setup
      .
    • Check the box for Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection.
    • Allow it to update and check if the port is still being blocked.

However, if the issue persists, I suggest you to post your query in the
TechNet Forums, where we have support professionals
equipped with knowledge on port forwarding.

    Regards,

Why is Windows Defender Firewall blocking an inbound port?

I have Windows 11 and am using Xfinity as my ISP.
I have port forwarded Port 2346 in my router.
In Defender Firewall I have set up an Inbound Rule for Port 2346 to "Allow the connection."
Defender Firewall is still blocking the port. I know it is Defender Firewall because if I turn it off then the port is no longer blocked. When I turn Defender Firewall back on the port is blocked.

How do I fix this so that I can keep Defender Firewall running and not block the port?

How to disable windows defender for long time?

    Hi Andrew,

If I understand you correctly you are willing to disable Windows Defender from your system. I would like to know few more things to understand the issue in a better way.

    • Why are you trying to disable Windows Defender? Are you planning to install any third party security software?
    • From where you have followed the steps to disable Windows defender using registry?
    • Are you logged in as Administrator?

The steps which you have mentioned to disable Windows Defender using gpedit.msc is correct. If you are unable to disable it then you may do that by stopping the service responsible for Windows Defender. Here are steps which you may follow to perform the
    same task.

    • Press Windows key + R to open run box.
    • Type services.msc and hit enter.
    • There should be 2 services: Windows Defender Service
      and Windows Defender Network14.
    • Right click on each and press stop.

If you will stop the service responsible for Windows Defender then it will not run till it is stopped. Do get back to us with all the information required and result of proposed suggestion. We will be happy to assist you further.

    Regards,
