Unable to Remove Exclusions from Windows Defender

Thank you for posting back. If you trust a file, file type, folder, or a process that Windows Defender Antivirus has detected as malicious, you can stop Windows Defender Antivirus from alerting you or blocking the program by adding the file to
the exclusion list. It seems that it was added automatically. We suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Go to Settings and select Update & security.
    • Click Windows Defender.
    • Look for Exclusions and select Add an exclusion.
    • Navigate to the file, folder, or process, and select Exclude this file.

If the steps provided did not work, we recommend that you boot your device to
    Safe Mode
    and redo the process.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

  3. Add rocket league to exclusions from Microsoft Defender Anti-virus scans

    Hi Will,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with adding Rocket League to the exclusions list in Microsoft Defender Anti-virus scans.

To add Rocket League to the exclusions list, please follow these steps: Add an exclusion to Windows Security - Microsoft Support

Instead of selecting the Rocket League app directly, try manually adding the folder where Rocket League is installed to the exclusions list.

If you have any other antivirus or security software installed on your system, it might conflict with Microsoft Defender Antivirus. Consider temporarily disabling or uninstalling third-party antivirus software to see if it resolves the issue.

After adding the exclusion, Rocket League should not be blocked by Microsoft Defender Antivirus when you try to run it. If the game is still being blocked, ensure that the exclusion was added correctly and that you're excluding the correct file or folder. Sometimes, you might need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

If you have already followed these steps and Rocket League is still being blocked by Microsoft Defender Anti-virus, you may need to temporarily disable the anti-virus while you play the game.

Disclaimer: Temporarily turn off antivirus protection. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn it on immediately once issue fixed.

I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

  4. Something keeps adding my C folder to exclusions in Microsoft Defender.

Windows Defender won't let me add C:\Windows\Fonts as an exclusion...

Windows Defender is slowing my computer startup by scanning every single font I have installed (over 1000 of them), and it takes several minutes, during which my computer slows down considerably (takes 2 minutes for iTunes to start). I always scan my fonts with Defender and VirusTotal before I install them, so I want to add C:\Windows\Fonts to the exclusion list. I already tried Virus & Threat Protection Settings->Add an exclusion->Folder->type in "C:\Windows\Fonts", but it says this:

    Code:
How do I get it to add? I've already tried %WinDir%\Fonts, but that comes up with the exact same error. What's keeping it from adding that folder? *Confused Is there some workaround to get it added?
