Windows 10: something limiting my local 5ghz wifi speed into 1 device

Hi

I have strange problem, i have oculus quest, and i wanted stream from PC, it reque 5ghz wifi, so i bought USB wifi dongle. I set some settings for 5ghz wifi and make hotspot, everything works fine (oter computers, phones are connected at max speed 866mbps) exept oculus quest, it gets just 173mbps (its really gets 5ghz wifi, on 2,4ghz it gets just 144mbps)

Strange is that, when i create same wifi from diferent computer, with same settigns, everything works fine, as it should. Today i even try connect SSD (with WIN10) from different computer and boot from that, and even then it works fine, so its propably software problem.

So i think, my PC is somehow limiting wifi speed and i think it may be something in windows. ( I have newly build PC with fresh windows.)



So if somebody can help me, i will be gratefull

My 5Ghz wifi download speed is limited after the newest windows update .

my download speed is about 150 mbps(by speedtest by Ookia) , but after the update, my download speed is 5mbps , and the upload speed is 20mbps, which high than my download speed..

I tried to switch to the 2.4Ghz wifi and run the test, the speed remain the same before the update.

I think there is no problem with my usb wifi adapter, because I ran speedtest on my other computer which is old windows version with the adapter, the download speed is 150mbps.

How can I fix this?

 

Whats the true speed of the wifi?

Ok this might be a noob question but I will ask. I understand for wifi there is 2.4 GHz & 5 Ghz. What confuses me is a router manufacturer will say "AC2300 WiFi - 600+1625 Mbps speeds".

1. is this saying if I hook up my laptop to wifi that it will have speeds of 1200mbps?
2. is it saying 600mpbs is the 2.4 Ghz stream and 1625 is the 5Ghz stream? If so, then technically I "CANNOT" connect to both 2.4 GHz & 5Ghz.

If I connect my laptop, its either I connect to 2.4 (600) "OR" 5 Ghz (1625). It seems as if they are saying I will get 2300 but I dont think thats the case. Perhaps its just the total bandwidth of all devices connected. Then at that point them marketing AC2300 is pointless to me.

 

5ghz wifi not showing windows 10

I just got a new modem/router and it has a 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi connections...Only the 2.4ghz shows in the wifi list while the 5ghz isn't showing at all. My computer's network card does support the 5ghz and I know the 5ghz is working because I can connect to it from other devices...just not my desktop computer.

EDIT: I've attempted updating network driver, also resetting network in the settings menu. Both hasn't worked.
