Windows 10: something strange is going on with File Explorer on one of my computers.

I set FE to display ext and hidden items. Randomly, both get unchecked. I recently added KSC Kaspersky AV. It is now randomly telling me the ext are not shown. When I look, both are still checked. I raised an issue with KSC and they said it is an unsolved known issue. That might indicate others are having the same issue as mine.Today I opened FE and, while both were checked, some files showed the extension and others did not in the same folder. When I went to another folder, all ext were showing. When I went back to the other folder, all ext were now showing.This seems to be happening on only

Windows 10 File Explorer crashes strangely when resized

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

This might be a temporary issue on your computer.

I suggest you to sign-in out from the current user account, restart the computer, sign-in and check if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, try few of the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

Step : Run System Maintenance Troubleshooter

System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

Follow the steps given below:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the Search box from the desktop.
  
• 
  Select the Troubleshooting option.
  
• 
  Select View All option and select the
  System Maintenance.
  
• 
  Click on Next to perform the System Maintenance troubleshooter and follow the steps.
  

Step 2: End the Windows Explorer process and create the new one.

• Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, under Process
  tab, search for Windows Explorer.
• Right click on it and click on End task.
• Click on File in the Task Manager
  at top left corner of the window and select Run new task.
• Type explorer.exe and click on Ok.

Windows 7 File Sharing between computers, PROBLEMS!!

Just do a file transfer in explorer from one computer to the other and see what speed you get. I would suggest avoiding homegroup and using a proper network setup instead.

 

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.
