Windows 10: Something tried to shut down my pc, troubleshoot

Hi,

I'm running Windows 10 Pro with latest updates, but no optional ones. I was just casually using my computer, formatting an microSD from my phone what I upgraded and browsing the internet, when something apparently sent a shut down command to my system. All tasks started to shut down, but as I had some productivity apps running with unsaved changes, the process was halted.

I would be interested to know what the hell happened. It can't be Windows update, since I've disabled automatic installs at GPL. How do I know that it's not a malicious app? What measures should I take to make sure it's not? What else could cause this?

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Troubleshooting PCs spontaneously waking from sleep

The suggestions I listed are actual resolutions to the problem you're experiencing that ive used in the past when i went through it personally ( i'm not "electrician minded", so I can't say why or how the orientation of a header plug would ,or wouldn't affect or cause this issue, but I do know that it resolved the problem in a previous computer of mine). in full disclosure , my situation wasn't just waking up from sleep but also powering on after shut down.

I know its a frustrating problem to troubleshoot, and I realize you may have tried some of the things I or others have listed, but I have found in the past that it's often things that I thought I had addressed properly, but turned out I hadn't ,so when I encounter issues like this ,I normally try everything (even if I have in the past) at the cost of being redundant *Roll Eyes . one of those "i tried that solution before, and it didnt work, but now it did, and i dont care since the issue is gone now" situations.
