Windows 10: sometimes my keyboards doesnt work

I have laptop.Legion 5-15IMH05H Lenovo - Type 81Y6my keys 8 I k , sometimes work sometimes not. why ?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)
  
• 
  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

I suggest you to use the On-screen keyboard and boot the system in Safe Mode with Networking and check if you can access the Keyboard.

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10

After booting the system in Safe Mode With Networking, update the driver for Keyboard by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
• Expand Keyboards from the list.
• Right click on the driver and select
  update driver software.

After the driver is updated, boot the system in normal mode and check for status.

As per the description, I understand that the keyboard is not working even after troubleshooting. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

• Are you facing this issue after any recent changes of software or hardware?
• Is the issue only when you are playing fallout 4 game?
• Did the keys work in On-Screen keyboard?
• Did you try connecting the external keyboard and check if it works?

I suggest you to check if the issue resolves in
Safe Mode and check if you are able to use the keyboard normally.

Safe mode loads only minimal set of drivers and applications which helps you try checking if the issue persists.

If the issue doesn't resolve in Safe Mode and if the external keyboard works and not the internal keyboard, I suspect it could be a Hardware issue.

I suggest you to contact the manufacturer and check if the issue resolves.
