Windows 10: Sometimes when I’m playing games randomly my computer crashes and turns into a black...

Always crashing I have checked the windows log and says kernel issue not sure what any of it means

at random, monitor turns black and computer crashes

At seemingly random moments, my monitor will suddenly turn black, and then my computer will crash and automatically restart. Sometimes I will hear audio from programs when the screen turns black, other times the speakers will make a buzzing noise. Sometimes my PC will go a few days without crashing; other times my PC will crash multiple times in an hour.

Interestingly, these crashes never happen when while playing video games. They always seem to happen shortly after I close the video game, or while I surf the web. This leads me to believe that the problem is software, not hardware, related, but I don't know what.

So far I have (to no avail):

• Reset my PC
  
• Reinstalled GPU drivers
  
• Windows Memory Diagnostic Test - No problems with memory
  
• Checked GPU and CPU temperatures -- They are good, as expected. again my PC hasn't crashed while gaming
  
• Updated CPU drivers
  

I've also checked windows event viewer; seconds before the crash I always get an 'event id 28 kernel event tracing' error, but I am not sure what to make of this.

I have a Dell G5 5000 (2 years old, problem manifested itself a few months ago)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super

Memory: 2 x 8 GB

Any troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Unable to play video games on Windows 10, black screen after log-in screen

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• From where are you trying to play the video games (downloaded/ from website)?
• If you are playing games from website which browser are you using?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message when the game crashes?
• Are you able log-in to your computer?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated display drivers.

As you see black screen while logging to the desktop, I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article about this issue, try the troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Also, I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Black screening issues while gaming

Hi all,

I have been having this problem for a few weeks now. When I am playing Baldur's Gate 3 or Diablo 4 in particular, my computer will randomly black screen and crash. All audio cuts out, I'm disconnected from discords, and nothing is responding. My lights in my computer stay on and my peripherals remain lit. I can play (seemingly) less intensive games such as Rocket League and receive no issues or crashes. Previously, on the first instance of this happening, my computer black screened and turned off for a moment as if it shut down, then came back up with the VGA light on the MOBO. The computer would then not receive any video output. I got a new GPU and MOBO and this resolved the video output problem. However I am still getting black screen crashes seemingly randomly.

What I've tried so far -

• Replacing the MOBO
  
• Replacing the CPU
  
• Replacing the GPU
  
• Re-installing windows, multiple times, on different NVMEs
  
• All drivers/BIOS is up to date.
  
• Possibly more things I'm not recalling over the last weeks.
  

My specs -

• Intel I5-13600k
  
• AMD RX6800
  
• 32GB corsair DDR5 4800MHZ
  
• MSI Z790 gaming plus wifi
  
• 1TB western digital NVME
  
• Kraken X53 280mm AIO
  

Any help would be appreciated.
