Windows 10: Sonix Technology Co., Ltd. Laptop Webcam not working error code: 0xA00F429F...

I have a ROG gaming laptop. I have made sure that all my apps have permissions to use the webcam. I have installed the most recent GeForce drivers. I have made sure to update my windows to the latest update. I have restarted my laptop, tried to update the drivers in the device manager, and uninstalled and reinstalled it in the device manager as well. When I attempt to use the camera on the camera application I get the error code: 0xA00F429F <WindowShowFailed> 0x80004003Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

WEBCAM NOT WORKING

My webcam is not working. error code 0xA00F429F<WindowShowFailed> (0X80070057). Please help. I've done all the instructions from this site already but still didn't work.

The Sonix SN9C102 is the chip inside the webcam and Sonix -- the chip manufacturer -- does not supply webcam drivers.

In addition, from what I've seen, although there were some drivers for webcams incorporating the Sonix SN9C102 chip, they were for XP and Vista and none of the reports I've seen suggest that they work on a Windows 7 system.

If I were you, rather than wasting more time and energy trying to find driver and application support for this old camera, I'd buy a new USB-connected webcam. You should be able to find a decent one without having to spend too much:
