    Sony handycam not recognized by Win 10


    Hi all,

    I have an Asus laptop with Win 10 and ever since i updated from 8 to 10, my Sony HDR-PJ240 handycam is not recognized by windows and thus, i can`t transfer my recorded movies to my laptop.
    Any idea what could be the problem?

    Windows 10 drivers for Sony Handycam DCR TRV-38

    Hi,

    I ran multiple tries, checks, driver identification for ensuring that my Sony Handycam DCR TRV-38 is recognized by streaming media like Windows Encoder. This was a cake walk with my earlier Dell System on Windows XP. My latest laptop i.e. Dell V3000 series
    (OS - Windows 10) is not recognizing the handycam in streaming mode. But if I shift to photo-mode, the data-card is readable. But at no point in time does my device manager or streaming media software shows the Sony handycam credentials as recognized.

    Please help as my main objective of buying new laptop was to work on streaming media using Windows-10. At this point, the objective of buying the laptop is lost.
