Windows 10: Soon after the latest Win 11 update is installed my wifi stops working and I can not access...

Soon after the latest Win 11 update is installed my wifi stops working and I can not access the internet. The only way I can fix this is to go back to a previous version of Win 11. Why does Microsoft put out an update with a serious problem?

Installing the latest Windows 11 update today (Mar 21st 2023) stops WIN+TAB from working.

I installed the latest Windows 11 update today (Mar 21st 2023) and WIN+TAB stopped working. Additionally, ALT+TAB also stopped working. I was able to make ALT+TAB work again by restarting Windows Explorer in Task Manager, but WIN+TAB stubbornly refuses to work.

 

Windows 10 wifi and update & security not working


Hi All,

I have been battling an issue with Windows 10 every night for the last 2 weeks. I apologise for the long post but will try to provide as much detail as possible.

Initially I had a critical error warning which stopped me accessing the start menu and Internet explorer/edge. I fixed this by uninstalling Norton Antivirus and installing an alternative.

However I now have no wifi internet connection. All other devices using the wifi are working fine. I have checked the driver for the wifi adapter and it is up to date. The adapter also states working fine when running various tests. I have also reset my router and tried many other fixes to no avail.

I also have have a problem with the 'updates and security' option from the control panel. When I click on this it doesn't do anything.

I have spoken to Microsoft and they have suggested the driver for the adapter is incompatible. However the computer has been working fine with wifi for a good while since updating to Win 10. They suggested the solution was to revert back to Win 8 but this seems a step backwards and I don't have the product key for Win 8 so would need to purchase new.

I am thinking the only option would be a reset but I can't access that as the updates and security tab doesn't work.

I have run a system check (sfc scan now) and that found no issues. I have also ran a full Antivirus scan but again found nothing.

Any advice greatfully received.

 

wifi stops working at random startups

I recently bought a lenovo loq 15 iax9 and installed win 10 on it, then soon had to update to win 11 after learning that apparently win 10 is not compatible with it (sound did not work).

i made the update from the Microsoft official page.

twice now after turning it on, the wifi just didn't work.

messages on the network settings page were:

1. can't connect to the internet because your current ip address is for local network only
   
2. can't reach the DHCP server
   

here is what other detaila coincided on both occasions:

1. some updates made to various drivers (win updated a few hours prior to that (though after initial restart everything was fine)
   
2. had a flash drive connected via USB hub (but I've had it and others connected multiple times along with two mouse and keyboard dongles
   
3. certain services were available at first after turning the laptop on and I could use my internet connection for a couple of minutes before it stopped working
   
4. both times it started working again after multiple restarts and an eventual wifi router reset. but please keep in mind that any other devices connected to wifi could use it just fine without any interruptions.
   

differences:

1. the first time what would happen was that it would connect and disconnect almost immediately multiple times. this didn't seem to happen the 2nd time
   

I really like this computer but if this is how it's going to be I'm going to give up on both windows and Lenovo too. but I'm hoping there is some solution to this.

can anyone please advise?
