That could mean anything. What exactly are you wanting to know? Microsoft.com and redhat.com along with cisco.com and the Network Security websites out there have a large wealth of information.

My daily routine with my home network is making sure that if there are patch cables showing signs of failure, I will check them and possibly replace them. Especially if they have are in a device and jack, which causes the tang to stop being able to hold the Male end in.

My NAS sends me a daily report of what the stat's are. Check for any updates weekly. There is no need for any kind of Anti-Malware software on any of the computers or devices on my network, since Mac OS has very powerful security features to protect it, Linux, Android OS and iOS devices are not allowed to have Developer options enabled. The iOS devices update to iCloud for backups and the Macbooks update on Time Machine to the NAS.

Anything else is up to you how you want to handle.

That is really up to you in how you want to do it. There are policies out there for the U.S. Military for OpSec and Social Media security.

You have to remember that the policy would have to stand up in a court of law if it ever got challenged and there is policies missing, such as annual self-training during evaluation periods and also you would need to look at basic security, such as not allowing access to any USB ports that are not being used by the Keyboard and Mouse, which they have locks that hold the mouse and keyboard USB plugs and also those that cover the other ports. The DVD drive's at this point can just be pulled, since you can use a USB key to do any changes.

Now to step it up, there are ways that the users would have to use a security key before they can log onto the system. The biggest policy is password safe keeping and email use.
