Windows 10: Sort photos by favorite

Hello,I have a folder with thousands of photos. I have marked some favorites out of those and want to delete all othersI tried to sort by Favorite, but there is no such option. I have the latest version of Win 11 as of Feb/03/2023How do I select the "non-favorites" so I can delete them?Thank you.

How do I sort favorites in alphabetical order?

Unfortunately, your suggestion does not work. My favorites are listed under "Other" in Edge. When you click on the 3 dots and choose Favorites - Manage Favorites, you are not able to get to right click an empty space beside the list of favorites and choose
"Sort By Name".

 

How to sort photos in Windows essentials photo gallery.

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to sort your pictures in the way you want them. Kindly take note that the only options to sort your photos in Photo Gallery are the following:

• Date taken
• Date modified
• File size
• Image size
• Rating
• Caption
• File name

Also I suggest follow the below steps.

Press ALT + W + K, one after other & check if the photos are shown in the order they were taken.

photos sorted incorrectly by date, phone adds favorites that aren't mine.

Quick update:

• Favorites: Confusing. There is a "favorites" tab/page and a "favorites" album in the "people" tab/page of the photos hub. I was confusing the latter (which shows those horrible facebook favorites) with the former, but,WP7.5 correctly Identified
  favorite photos somehow (star rating read by Zune software?) and populated them on the phone so they showed up in favorites. Win phone 8, despite having photos loaded to it from the exact same computer resource, does not do this. I believe the metadata is
  being destroyed, ignored, or corrupted by the windows phone desktop "syncing software."
• Date sort wrong: This is still wrong, as I can confirm with two windows phones in my lap, one running Mango, the other, WP8. They have images loaded to them from the same home network location (an NAS). WP7.5 correctly sorts these by the
  embedded metadata ("date shot"). WP8 fails on images that are older and were not shot on digital cameras -- BUT all those images did have the metadata properly adjusted to embed the proper date shot.
  

So, why does Windows phone 7.5 get the sort right and WP8 fail on these? I'm not sure, but it looks like the windows phone desktop "sync" software destroys date shot metadata when it copies the files to the phone. I am looking at the files on the phone directly
(through my surface RT now) and the "date shot" metadata is set, for every photo, to the date the photograph was copied to the device!



This is inexcusably bad. The date sort on WP images is one of its strengths, and no one bothered to make sure that images would get the proper capture date transferred via the only transfer tool Microsoft put out for WP8 and windows 7? Unbelievable.



I still don't know why it is sorting some photos correctly by date. Perhaps its looking at EXIF dates for this information? (But I thought I had actually added EXIF data to the images that aren't sorting, so I need to investigate this further.)
