Windows 10: Sound and gaming problems

Hi,


I recently had some problems with my speakers. It seemed that volume on one side of the speaker seemed to be louder than the other. It was previously a hardware problem and that was fixed. Recently, the same thing happened again and after contacting HP support, they told me to to update my windows as well as BIOS.


The sound problem seemed to be fixed BUT gaming became really difficult. Specifically, I play Red Dead Redemption 2 and I have a decent amount of hours on it without any FPS drops or lags at a steady 30-35 FPS. After the update, it suffers FPS drops to 5 FPS or 2 FPS. Its extremely annoying and I can't revert back my updates because that my cause the sound issues to reappear. Please help.

Sound cuts out when in game and call

Sound problem

Hi,

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
