Windows 10: Sound/Audio not working

1. Sound is not working

2. Volume Slider will only let me use it once every few minutes, then it wouldn't respond Same thing happens with volume mixer


3. Sound Settings either: Won't open, freezes when opened, or won't respond


4. Troubleshooting doesn't detect any problems


All updates are installed and applied
Audio enhancements are off

Not muted
All audio formats don't work

Microphone still works


Please help, I have done everything I can, but it's still not working.

Sound problem

Hi,

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

No sound Audio

Follow the below steps:

This issue can be due to several reasons. Let's get your audio and sound issue sorted, we suggest that you follow the steps provided below:

• Press Windows key.
• Type Control Panel in the search box.
• Select Sound.
• Go to Communications tab.
• Click Do nothing.
• Chose Apply and Ok.
