Windows 10: Sound Card

I added a Creative Sound Blaster card to my windows 10 computer. But it doesn't work right. Creative supplies an app that lets you click on a speaker to test if it's working. I have a 5.1 speaker system. When I click on the Right Front or Right Rear I get appropriate sounds treble and bass. Not sure if the bass is coming from the Right Front and Right Rear or from the Sub. When I click on any other speaker Center, Sub, Left Front, Left Rear, I get only bass sounds. Again these may be coming from the sub and not the othter speakers.

I have been working with Creative to fix the problem. I moved it to a different slot in the computer, and I ran a test program they sent me. Now they say the problem can't be fixed since it is due to a conflict with the built in sound capability of the computer. They are telling me that I need to upgrade to a more expensive external USB sound card to fix the problem. Does this make sense? I need help to decide what to do here!

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Sound Card Cannot be found on ACER aspire E5-511P


"sound card cannot be found". Does the Device Manager list it, and with an error? Or is it no listed in the Device Manager?
If its not listed at all, that suggests the BIOS is not detecting it or there is a BIOS error. Windows will not detect it if the BIOS does not.

You can try a BIOS reset and see if that helps, if its not being detected by the BIOS.
