Windows 10: Sound cutting in and out when gaming.

Okay i'm at a loss here. Whenever I am in game (Doesn't matter the game - League, Overwatch, PUBG, etc) I will get random audio cut-out in the game only.


All other sounds from other applications will continue but my game will lose audio. (E.g. music still playing in background, voice chat still working, etc)


This happens both with my wireless headset (Corsair Void Pro) and my wired speakers (Crappy little wired speakers). The sound will cut out twice for a split second each time.

It's very distracting and at times causes me to miss crucial info.


I've already updated my drivers, disabled enhanced sounds, disabled irrelevant devices, and revoked exclusive privileges in all devices both disabled and enabled.

Sound cuts out when in game and call

My headset's sound cuts out when i'm calling my friends and playing games at the same time. This usually happens 30-40 minutes in. It happens with every single program that we have tried, including
skype, curse voice, discord, and even facebook (since we were pretty desperate). I have recently purchased a Steelseries Siberia 150 headset, however I doubt that the headset itself is malfunctioning, since I was having issues with my previous headset too.

When the sound cuts out, I can't hear anything from the call or the game, and my friends can't hear me. Reconnecting to the game solves the in-game sound issues, but doesn't affect the call, obviously. I've
noticed that the sound sometimes cuts out in a pattern. I can hear in-game sounds for roughly 2 seconds, and then can't hear anything for another 2, and this repeats consistently. Youtube remains unaffected, and I can hear everything on it when the sound in
game is gone.

I've noticed that these issues are nowhere near as common when I am not calling anyone, and practically never happen when I am playing offline games.

Kind of desperate at this point, so any suggestion is completely welcome. Thanks in advance!

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
