Windows 10: Sound delays

When I sue the microphone included with a webcam there is a delay of about a second before the sound is recognised. This applies both in settings - sound - microphone the blue bar reacts a second later and using the camera app looking at recordings the sound is a second behind my lips. Any suggestions on how to correct this please?


I have reinstalled the driver and restarted the system. I am using Windows 10, latest build.

We would like to know if you are pertaining to the Action Center in
Windows 10, can you tell us if there's a delay either on sounds or the notification, or both?

This issue is quite unclear and incomplete to be understood which notification you are talking about. It is too broad for us to distinguish the main reason why you are having challenges/concerns with notifications. To have a better
understanding of your concerns, we'd like to ask you some questions:

• Are you making a program or editing a script?
• What feature of Windows 10 are you experiencing sound delays? Can you specify? Is it from
  Alarm, Calendar, Action Center, etc.?

• Have you successfully performed this activity before?

• What were the recent changes made on your computer before you experienced this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.
