    Sound detected by windows, but no sound is emitting??


    Recently got a gaming computer, that was organized by my dad. Everything was fine and audio was emitting from my desktop. However, that soon stopped in 3-5 hours when I turned off my computer to rest. Once I turned it back on, audio from YouTube in my Microsoft Edge browser, suddenly vanished. My volume is not muted, my volume is set to the max, I've un-installed and updated my drivers, changed the default to my desktop speakers but all to no avail. Apparently Windows is detecting audio from my computer, yet, how am I unable to hear it? The only way I can hear audio is through my head-phones, which I rarely use. As of now, I'm stuck to using my head-phones which I don't mind, but is really annoying because its heavy which tires me when I'm doing online homework. Because of COVID-19 Do note: I am not a technical person, nor is my dad. He simply just followed the procedures to setting up my desktop. I have changed no settings on my computer and I've only downloaded games that my friends play, these games aren't not harmful to my computer.

    Sound Quality

    One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

    May not be a speaker problem.

    Good surround sound headset

    I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Sound detected by windows, but no sound is emitting?? :p

    Sound Card Cannot be found on ACER aspire E5-511P


    "sound card cannot be found". Does the Device Manager list it, and with an error? Or is it no listed in the Device Manager?
    If its not listed at all, that suggests the BIOS is not detecting it or there is a BIOS error. Windows will not detect it if the BIOS does not.

    You can try a BIOS reset and see if that helps, if its not being detected by the BIOS.
