Windows 10: Sound is crackling randomly and at volum change

Hi, i have the very annoying problem that my sound crackles when im changing volum or even hitting the first note on my midikeyboard.

I just rebuild my pc with new gpu, usb card and case and 2 new ssd. Windows is also fresh for the second time. I got a sounblaster z, a roland audiointerface and a hx stomp (guitar pedal) which can also be used as a interface and the crackle is on every device, testes with 2 different headphone.

For testing i also removed my pgu, but the soundcard on pcie x16 (or how its called) removed the usb Expansion card. I feel like it crackles the most fresh at restart. It was worse and i had the cracklin even in playback but now nit so much, i just can kinda hear it when there is kind of a 0-100 sound change. Sometimes it kinda feels like windows cuts the sound or mutes it when there is no input. Idk.

Does anyone has an idea whats wrong? I mean can it be the case?

Cannot change sound quality frequency/Crackling speakers

Issues with my lenovo ideapad 330s Laptop:

• Crackling speakers sometimes they are silent or in other cases they stay quiet no matter the volume.
• Crackling in earbuds
• cannot change sound frequency (grayed out)

Note: The speakers were fine when i got it but after I reset windows theyve started crackling. Ive tried fixing my crackling speakers by:

• uninstalling/reinstalling device drivers
• reinstalling windows
• creating new accounts
• disabling every driver one at a time to see if that changes anything
• checking internal cabling to make sure no wires are touching

I still have yet to try changing sound frequency because its grayed out

PS: nothing important is on the computer i dont mind losing anything.

Help would very much be appreciated.

I tried what you suggested ,but it did not help unfortunately(,thank you anyway.This is the video i captured ,the only slider that does not make crackling is the main windows volume slider,in all other applications ,youtube,watching films etc. it pops and crackles,i also get random pops sounds during the video/audio playback,

Hi, sorry you too are experiencing this. It seems like only a small number of people (myself included) are. Unfortunately, I think it's unlikely that a *recent* Windows update is the cause, because I started experiencing this issue around the time I first updated to Win10 1809 last year. Others started experiencing it even earlier.

Re: The song you posted - Yes I do hear the crackling upon quickly lowering/raising the volume. I've noticed that the crackling is *very* noticeable when changing the volume during long, sustained bassy notes. For instance, skip to around 7:00 in this track and raise/lower the volume (either in the YouTube player, or Windows volume control)



For me the crackling is extreme. It's like tearing velcro, lol!

Muting the volume (either in the browser by muting the tab, muting the YouTube player, or muting Windows audio entirely) results in a very blatant pop/crackle with each mute toggle (on/off/on/off, etc)

(I should also note that repeating the volume-change behaviour *at the beginning* of the track I posted - say from 0:30 onwards - results in far less extreme crackling. Only once the sustained bassy drones emerge does the crackling really kick up a notch)
