Windows 10: Sound Issue on Windows 11

My laptop speakers have no sound coming out of them. When I try to play saved music on my laptop I get an error message saying said file has unsupported encoding settings. I also can't use Spotify, I get another error message saying "Spotify can't play this right now, if you have the file on your computer you can import it". The only thing that works are saved videos on my system which play through the Films and TV app, aside from that nothing else works; browsers, games, none produce any sound, and I've tried whatever I could to fix this; reinstalling the Realtek r driver, updating it, etc. b

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

Step 1: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
and check.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.

Step 2: I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the below Microsoft article and check if it helps.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

I would suggest you to follow these steps and run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter:

• Type “Troubleshoot” without quotes in search and click on
  Troubleshooting in the results displayed on the left side of the screen.
• In the new window, click Hardware and Sound.
• In the list of options, click on Hardware and Devices.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

• If troubleshooter doesn't fix issue uninstall and reinstall latest drivers from device manufacturer and check if the issue persist.
