Windows 10: Sound issue since Windows 10 v. 1803

Hi!


Since updating to the creators update, my sound is experiencing some serious issues. This is an example of what I get:

I have a MB Gigabyte 170 hd3, an intel core i7 6700k, an NVIDIA GT 740. I'm mainly using my monitor as a speaker with the graphics card's hdmi output.


What i've tried:

- play sound from various players (vlc, windows media, itunes, from youtube with chrome, firefox)

- play sound with various formats (mp3, wav, flac, m4a,...)

- reinstall windows

- use the MB HDMI output

- use the MB jack with 2 differnet headsets

- use the case's jack with 2 different headsets

- update all the sound drivers from the manufacturer's site

- uninstall all sound drivers and reinstall them with the latest version

- uninstall all my graphics card's drivers, incl. graphic drivers and reinstalling them

- update my MB drivers

- update the chipset drivers

- update my BIOS to the latest version (F22e)


None of this has worked. I know for sure that it is due to the windows 1803 update, because each time I reverted to my previous version, the problem disappeared.


I hope that someone can help, either ways, cheers.

and check.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.

Step 2: I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the below Microsoft article and check if it helps.
