Windows 10: Sound Output has stopped working

To whom it may concern,The sound output on my laptop has been playing up for several months now - the speakers have been working but my microphone only worked when I had headphones plugged into the jack on the left-hand side of my laptop.Today 09/10/2023 I attempted to fix it myself by updating the driver and system but now my sound output has completely stopped working.I have tried to update my device several time now and it comes back with an error message each time: There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. Sound output stops working

Sound output turns off when I use an external mic (Blue Yeti - Professional Multi-Pattern USB MIC) as the input. System settings indicate the output is directed to the laptop output (Realtek (R) Audio) but there is no sound. Mic input works fine but cannot restore audio output without unplugging the mic. Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• When will the sound disable, when playing through main monitor or the extended monitor?
• Did you try enabling the sound from the sound drivers and check if it helps?
• Since from when are you facing this issue?

This issue causes because the monitor automatically takes the HDMI sound as the Default input. Disable and enable the speakers and check if it helps.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

• Right click on the volume control and then
  Properties,
• When you connect the HDMI it becomes the default output device, even though it has no speakers.
• You need to change this back to "Speakers" and set as default.

Windows 10 audio stutters regardless of driver or output used, more noticeable on the toslink and surround sound.

• What device are you using? A laptop or a computer?
• Its a desktop, i listed the components in the original post.
• Do you have an external speaker?From which device does the sound come out from? From the TV or from the device?
• I listed the outputs in the original post. The issue exists on all outputs and exists on the tv speakers, surround sound speakers, and headset.
• What other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• I have listed the troubleshooting steps that i can remember in the original post.
