Windows 10: Sound problems across the board

Hi,

I've been on other subs before with the issue, most people say it's impossible, it "can't be true" or that it's not a real issue but I want it fixed because it's driving me nuts and it just got worse.

I recently built a new PC consisting of:

ryzen 7 5800x

Asus X570 Prime Pro

16gb 3200 G.Skill Triden Z RAM

850w Plat PSU

3070

My problem: Audio. The only audio I can get to work is my UMC204HD USB interface which is great, but I have two studio sound monitors that I used to have plugged directly into the motherboard's sound output. It stopped working, so I then plugged them into my AOC 27" 2K monitor, which worked for a bit. This afternoon, I came back to my computer to find the audio of my studio monitors not working at all. In the device manager, I have come across several errors. My computer no longer recognises my AOC monitor (It just says "generic PnP monitor" where it used to say "AOC27HD" ) and I have two HD audio drivers with yellow exclamation marks telling me something is wrong with them, and there is no RealTek Audio after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I have uninstalled said problem drivers, I've even tried reinstalling the audio drivers from the motherboard manufacturer, I've rolled back the windows updates to pretty much when I first installed them, and still nothing.

onboard sound not working for HIS mother board ( windows 10 )

For us to properly isolate the issue with your on-board sound, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you check and follow the steps in this
article to run the audio troubleshooter.

Sound problem

Hi,

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
