Sound signal intermittently loses bass, then returns after 30 seconds

I am using a Lenovo T410 with conexant 20585 hd smartaudio. Use Windows 10 64-bit.
I have Jabra SoleMate connected via a cable on the sound output 3,5 mm connector of the laptop.

Music sounds good, but bass disappears every 15 minutes or so for some 30 seconds (approximately).
This effect occurs with every sound playing app I try (Windows Media Player, MediaMonkey, Chrome/Youtube...)
It is not completely making the sound unusable, but it is clearly noticeable and disturbing as you take note each time it occurs.

Anyone any ideas please ? I have tried installing recent driver I could find and tried to tweal output setting but nothing seems to affect this problem. I searched the internet for similar behaviour but could not find anything similar fitting this effect description.

    :)

Losing internet connection intermittently only on laptop

    Hi Lindamartin,

For us to know the reason why your laptop is losing internet connection intermittently and how to fix it, we would like to know more information:

    • Have you tried updating your drivers?
    • Did you receive any error messages?

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it will solve the issue:

    1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

    2. Select Troubleshooting.

    3. Select View all on the top left corner.

    4. Click on Internet Connections.

    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

    Method 2:

We suggest you to update the Network adapters driver from the Device Manager.

    Follow the below steps:

    1. Right click on Start button and click on
    Device Manager.

    2. Expand the
Network adapters driver from the list.

    Intermittent Beeping Sound

Before I elaborate on the steps taken so far, allow me to notify you that I have done research on this issue via the internet. Armed with the suggested solutions, I then:

    1) Clicked on the 'Start' button, followed by 'Settings'. Then on the 'Settings' window, I clicked on 'System' followed by a click on the 'Notifications & actions' On the right pane, I set the 'Get notifications from apps and other senders' switch to 'Off'.
No changes were made but it had no effect on the intermittent sounds.

    2) I then added the 'Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows' and disabled it. Again this did not help at all.

    3) I then enabled the switches for both items back to 'On'

    4) Clicked on the 'Start' button, followed by 'Settings'. Then on the 'Settings' window, I clicked on 'Devices' followed by a click on the 'USB'. I then set the one and only switch to notify me if there are issues connecting to USB devices to 'Off'. Again this
did not helped as the intermittent sound still occurred. I therefore set it back to 'On'.

    5) I clicked on the 'Control Panel' (since I enabled that icon for my desktop), followed a click on the 'Hardware and Sounds' item. On the next page that appeared, I clicked on the 'Change system sound' item. Then on the 'Sound' window, I selected the 'Sounds'
tab. A list of system sounds appeared under the 'Windows Default' and I moved the cursor to the 'Device Disconnect' item. I then set the sounds associated with that event to '(None)'. The 'Apply' button was pressed followed by the 'OK' button and closing of
the 'Control Panel' window. The intermittent sound did not occur anymore. However, since I set the sounds to (none), I WILL NOT be notified whenever a device is disconnected and this is what is causing a problem - I prefer to be notified.

Hopefully you would be able to suggest a better solution. BTW, this problem did not occur initially. Only when the Windows 10 updates were applied recently (about one or two months ago) did the problem surfaced. This was the reason why I suspected that the
updates was the culprit...but I could be wrong.

Sound signal intermittently loses bass, then returns after 30 seconds

    No bass in surround

Okay I will mark this as solved as I have fixed my issue. Here is what I did:

    • After trying all the common suggestions about drivers and such, I had no luck
    • On a whim, I bought a sound card and hooked it up via the optical cable.
    • I also changed the speaker settings on my receiver from Large to Small.
    • I removed all sound drivers other than those for my sound card (Soundblaster ZX)

I now have bass in surorund sound. I also have it set to 5.1 in Windows and have checked all speakers with a surround sound audio file I downloaded.

My guess is that the driver coming off of the Nvidia card is only in 2.1 and it just can't decode/send the right sounds to the receiver over HDMI.

At any rate, hopefully this will help someone else.
