Windows 10: Sound to soft msi ge72vr Apache Pro win 10.

I used the Win troubleshooter and permitted it to load a new driver while trying to solve a different problem. Immediately it reduced the maximum volume of my speakers toward a whisper. It now says my RealTek speakers are "Microsoft High Definition Audio Device" and I can't increase the volume adequately. My headphones work fine.

Suggestions for an SSD for my MSI GE62VR 7RF Apache Pro ?

Suggestions for an SSD for my MSI GE62VR 7RF Apache Pro ? Bought an MSI Apache Pro back in February on sale, opted for one without SSD so I could put one of my choosing. My first gaming laptop I've owned, and when I built my PC years ago I wasn't in the market for M.2 SSD's. Any suggestions ?

 

Should I be worried about the SSD

Nothing to worry about at all with that report from Crystal Mark on that NVME M2 drive

The main aspect as with any laptop is to always ensure you have the airvents and cooling completely free and unobstructed

As you may know a common error is to run the laptop on a soft surface where the vents on the base as shown here

I do not of course know the temps in your residence, but of course the hotter the ambient temp the warmer the laptop.

I do NOT suggest you try and remove the base NOW as shown on the link under maintenance but if you detect rises in the figures you have, not accountable to the increase in ambient temps, then after checking fan vents for dust, it may be time to carry out such maintenance.

The time element to this is very dependant on the situation in which the laptop is used.
Dusty, pet hairs, etc.

I am not suggesting you do, but you would be surprised at how many people dust and vacuum and indeed brush and comb pets in the same room as the laptop is - and even when it is powered on.
