Sound volume changes on it's own at high volumes

Hello this video here should be suffice to show my issue.https://streamable.com/7h6sxcI recently built a new computer but reused my OS from my previous computer.I have my audio being played to my speakers from a Line In source via device playback and at high volumes the audio spikes incredibly loud. Otherwise it's very quiet.I tried reinstalling the default drivers and installing the latest Realtek audio drives from my motherboard's manufacturer. I've also tried all different combinations of disable and enabled audio enhancements which I've noticed Loudness Equalization only slightly helped.I

Sound muted if changes volume while playing

Hi everyone, I have a rather odd problem.

My sounds seem to works fine, however if I change volume while sound is playing, the sound is muted. It happens every time doing so.

My laptop is running windows 10 and sound is played through computer's internal speakers.

Here are what I tried and found.

    1. Use built-in player in windows 10 to play a video, volume is set to 30 at the beginning. Pause the video and change volume to 80, then resume playing. Everything works fine.
    2. Again, play a video with volume set to 30 at first, this time increase volume while video is still playing, sound is muted as soon as I click the volume bar.
    3. After step 2, sound is still muted even I decrease volume back to 30.
    4. Volume bar is always available during the test, and there is no error notification.
    5. I thought it was a driver issue so I re-installed sound card driver with latest official one.
I can’t try a system restore since it is the laptop for work.

    Volume

    Hi,

An outdated sound card driver may be causing this issue with your volume settings. In order for us to effectively assist you with your concern, we just have a few questions:

    • Aside from the Windows Update, were there any other changes made on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you tried restarting your computer after the Update?

Meanwhile, you may temporarily adjust your computer volume by following these steps:

    • Click Start.
    • Type Volume and hit Enter.
    • You can then choose whether to adjust your Speakers,
      System
      Sounds, or browser volume.

Moreover, we recommend updating your device drivers by following these steps:

    • Click Start, type Device Manager and hit
      Enter.
    • Expand the Sound, video and game controllers'
category to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
    • If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

Furthermore, we suggest running the audio troubleshooter to find and resolve audio problems automatically.

Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Regards.
