    Space problem.


    Hi,


    I had deleted like more than 3gb from softwaredistribution, and clean up more than 1 gb in disk clean up but nothing has change to the space. Did i miss anything are there anymore hidden files i should clean as well?

    Space problem.

    Windows has lots of hidden files of which you generally dont want to remove.

    You could try installing ccleaner and giving that a go. Make sure to go through all the cleaning options and untick the ones you want to keep.

    In the cleaner section I generally only have internet cache ticked and compact database ticked where available.

    Its also up to you whether you wish to use the registry cleaner. I've been using ccleaner for years without issue.

    What is the size of your hard drive? I note that you say you're on Vista? We do have a sister forum which deals with that OS.

    Hi,

    Before i deleted all my unwanted file its 188gb of free space. Now after i disk clean up and deleted all softwaredistribution. Its still 188gb. Do you know what is the problem?

    When you use disk cleanup, click on button to remove old sytem files, and at popup screen, check all checkboxes.

    I am using desktop.

    if i check all box in disk clean up they will delete all my window 7 files?

    Disk cleanup > Clean up system files to get rid of windows.old and upgrade files. Data from W7 will not be deleted.
