Windows 10: Spacebar on my laptop stopped working-what should I do?

This started about a year ago. My spacebar would randomly stop working for days at a time and I would use on screen keyboard. It would sometimes randomly turn on but go off after a while though. Past 6 months it hasn't worked. I had my friend take it to someone and all she could remember was that he said it was a setting and not a physical issue. Sticky keys and filter keys are off. I have run troubleshoot as well. What should I do?-thanks!!

Spacebar stopped working suddenly

Hey,

the space bar key stopped working. I tried the usual sticky key and restarting or uninstalling the driver.

I don't know if its related but theres a UNITED KINGDOM KEYBOARD on the keyboard list bottom right but it doesn't show in the keyboard language preferences list , so I can't delete it.

I guess it shows up the same time the space-bar stopped working.

I tried Get-WinUserLanguageList
in the power shell but I don't see it there.

The spacebar worked briefly for a few seconds when windows was starting up but then it stopped.

its a HP ZBook 17 G5 Base Model Mobile Workstation

I updated everything..

thoughts ?

 

laptop spacebar making 64 need help

my step son has a toshiba laptop. its not all that old. his keyboard started messing up. the spacebar when pressed in notpad/search etc it make the number 64. backspace gives a date stamp. the number 4 sometimes does 4 and sometimes does 64. im thinking he somehow pressed the wrong key and it inverted his keyboard somehow. but Me and laptops are like oil and water. help?

Tried using SFC as you suggested and it went through all the steps successfully, but Windows key + Spacebar still doesn't work.

Looked at the link you gave and I see that one of the posts with a similar problem was using an HP Pavilion - same as me.

But it was the keyboard shortcut was working till the upgrade.

I've not tried Andre's suggestion yet.
