  1. Speakers do not show up in device manager or settings- no sound

I have an MSI GS76 Stealth laptop running Windows 11 Pro latest updates installed with 32 GB RAM and Intel i9 processor. Somewhere along the line my speakers disappeared from device manager and settings. I am not sure when this happened. I can connect via Bluetooth to an external speaker and get sound and I can connect to an external HDMI monitor and get sound. Updating the driver doesn't help because windows simply will not acknowledge that the speakers exist. Therefore, running the audio troubleshooter is simply not an option. I used a restore point that was several days old, but that didn't

    :)

no Sound on TV device mgr TV shows as media device not under sound

I can cast music to my Sony Bravia XBR 65x850b tv.
However when I have it as a a duplicate display sound I get on the speakers primary display does not come from the speakers on the TV.

On the device manager the TV shows as a media device.
However, the TV does not appear under sound.
Alll that shows under sound is
    Speakers
Digital audio (S/PDIF). Digital audio is set as default

How can I have any sound on my PC desktop also come through my TV?

Do I disconnect my Speakers and have the sound come through my Samsung monitor?

What additional info might the list need to help solve this?

Windows 10 recognizes my UE Megaboom as a headset and not a speaker will not work?

    Hi Rachael,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you try the steps listed below and check if it works. This issue could be because of the Headphones BT SPEAKER Stereo being set as default. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

    • Pair the speaker with your PC.
    • Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
      Device Manager.

    • Expand Sound, video, and game controllers
and right click on your Bluetooth speaker (BT SPEAKER Stereo).
    • Choose Disable and acknowledge the confirmation popup. Wait for the screen to refresh.
    • Right click on the same device again and Enable.
    • Exit Device Manager and see if the issue persist.

    Regards,

Speakers do not show up in device manager or settings- no sound

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Speakers do not show up in device manager or settings- no sound :p
