  1. Speakers Do not work. Audio Driver does not exist in Devices

I have a Dell XPS 7390 that has lacked proper sound output for a while now. This wasnt the worst thing because I have a USB Audio adapter but it has been getting worse recently. Every other answer has not helped me in the slightest, and I am getting annoyed at this. This is why I am sending a question here nowHow do you fix the drivers? I do not see the drivers which were Realtek Drivers and I just do not see them anywhere. I tried installing them and running a diagnostic but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?

    :)

  2. Microsoft High Definition Audio Device Driver Abruptly Stopped Working

I tried the steps you suggested, but the symptoms remain the same. I HAVE to use the Realtek driver to get any sound to my external speakers. The Microsoft High Definition Audio will get sound to my laptop's onboard speakers, but not out the line out.
The Realtek driver still has the delay at the beginning of playing any audio. I found that the the Plug and Play service was not set to automatic, so I changed it so it now does, but of possible significance is that there is no "Multimedia Class Scheduler"
on my list of services. Please advise.

  3. Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [2]

I just built a new rig with a ASRock X470 Taichi motherboard and Win 10 64bit 1903. I downloaded the driver from my motherboard's site (Realtek high definition audio driver ver:8668_UAD_WHQL_DTS) and then ran the powershell script to detect the driver type.

Since I couldn't get more than 1 output, I also tried the latest driver in the 1st post (HDA DRIVER VERSION: 6.0.8716.1).

No matter what is plugged in, I only have 1 playback/output device.

    • I plug my speakers into rear panel = audio plays out the speakers and listed as Speakers (Realtek Audio)
    • I plug my headphones into front panel = audio plays out my headphones and listed as Speakers (Realtek Audio)
    • I plug my headphones into front panel and speakers into rear panel = audio plays out of front panel and listed as Speakers (Realtek Audio)

I used to be able to switch between front and rear when both were plugged in. Anyone have any suggestions?

  4. Speakers Do not work. Audio Driver does not exist in Devices

    Loss of audio device/driver

    Hi Malcolm,

The red X icon that you can see on the system tray may be caused by a hardware issue and the speakers are not working or in most of the cases there is a software malfunction after an update of the operating system due to the fact that not all the drivers
you had are compatible with the new Windows 10. We suggest that you try to connect another speaker and see if the same issue will occur. If the issue persists, you may run hardware and devices troubleshooter by following the steps below:

    • Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search bar and press Enter.
    • Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
    • This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.

Lastly, you may also go to the device manufacturer's website to update the driver.

Feel free to get back to us if you need further assistance.
