  1. Speakers sound tinny with very low volume after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7

I upgraded my HP 350 G1 notebook computer; product number JP04UT#ABA from Windows 7 pro 64 bit to Windows 10 pro 64 bit, and after the upgrade, my speakers sound tinny, and the volume is very low.

I have read a lot of posts on the subject, and followed as many of the steps as I though would help, but to no avail. Some of the recommendation that were stated I could not follow because it didn't apply in my situation; like right click on the speakers icon in the task bar". I don't have a speaker icon in the task bar.

When I upgraded my HP 4510s notebook computer, I had the same issue, but I solved it soon afterwards from articles I found online. Unfortunately, that was years ago, and I don't remember what I did. I know I bookmarked all information I found on issues with Windows 10, and made a "Windows 10 issues" folder that contained all of the bookmarks, but I can't find the folder now. I am using the same browser I was then, and all my bookmarks are synced, so whatever was on the 4510s is also on the 350 G1.

These are the steps I have taken so far: I attempted to update the drivers, but the latest drivers were installed. I used the HP support assistant to search for and repair any issues, but no issues were found. I uninstalled the device, deleting the drivers was not an option, and I then restarted the computer, reinstalled the device from the link provided by HP, but they are still tinny. Sound through ear buds is normal, as is the volume, and plugging in external speakers into the ear phone jack has the same results as the ear buds. I don't mind using external speakers, but they take up space on my desk that could otherwise be used for something else. Plus, they're old, they don't provide as much base as I would like, and they distort if they get turned up too much past 1/2 volume.

    :)

    E71 speaker sounding tinny

    Hi,

The E71 (still love this phone) normally should be making keypress sounds (a muted beep); recently this default beep became more tinny. Also the sound during phone conversations is a little distorted, more tinny, or "sharp". Does anyone else experience this
problem? Can it be that the speaker gets damaged after a while, especially when the volume is turned up occasionally? If that's the case, is it repairable?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rutger

sound distorted after windows 10 anniversary upgrade

This is where I'm at on my HP laptop with Windows 10 and the Anniversary update.

I completed step #3 "hardware and sound" but that took me to an option for "sound, speakers." There was no "properties" as step #4 suggests. I selected "sound, speakers" and then found "properties." After selecting "properties" there was no "enhancements
    tab" as step #5 suggests.

Regardless, I then uninstalled the realtek audio driver. I noticed that when I did this without restarting my laptop that the sound was now tinny, but not distorted as it was previously. After restarting, the sound was again full, yet distorted.

Realtek still shows in my programs list, though it shows no memory is used.

    Thanks for your continued help.

Call volume extremely loud and tinny sounding, even on lower volume

Hi, I've recently bought a Lumia 930, and I'm having problems with the volume on the actual call. It sounds extremely tinny and muffled, also it sounds way louder than it should be on that volume. However the sound of the call seems fine when I use the
loudspeaker or if i use headphones. Could this be a fault with the standard call speaker? Someone suggested something has gotten loose within the phone and no I haven't dropped it or knocked it.
