Windows 10: speakers work fine but cause trouble on video chat

Hello,I noticed the other day a problem while using Zoom - it slowed down my computer and lagged, and I think it has to do with the speakers. I have a hard time hearing other participants and they say there's an echo from my mic. My video is lagging too. It's so bad I can't use my computer and can't participate in the call. I hear the system sounds ok, and music on youtube works perfectly, but when Testing the speakers on ZOOM - they don't work. I tried to call via Whatsapp Web and had the same problem - the video call lagged, there was an echo from my mic and so on...I tried to troubleshoot,

Voice chat audio no longer comes through Default communication device (mic works fine)

A factor why you're voice chat sounds goes through your speakers as well is due to configuration settings. We suggest that you configure playback devices. Follow the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound >
  Sound.
• Left-click on Speakers > Click on Set as Default Device.
• Left-click on Headphones > Select Set as Default Communication Device.
• Click OK.

If the issue still occurs, contact your device manufacturer's support for assistance on configuring your device.

Let us know what happens after following the suggested troubleshooting steps.

 

Windows 10 recognizes my UE Megaboom as a headset and not a speaker will not work?

I suggest you try the steps listed below and check if it works. This issue could be because of the Headphones BT SPEAKER Stereo being set as default. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

• Pair the speaker with your PC.
  
• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device Manager.
  
• Expand Sound, video, and game controllers
  and right click on your Bluetooth speaker (BT SPEAKER Stereo).
  
• Choose Disable and acknowledge the confirmation popup. Wait for the screen to refresh.
  
• Right click on the same device again and Enable.
  
• Exit Device Manager and see if the issue persist.

video chat

I was able to video chat on messenger 2 days ago without a problem, now when I click on VIDEO Chat , I get this message " Microphone Permissions"... In your device setting, make sure Messenger is allowed to use yor microphone. I never had to do this before..
any suggestion ? my video am is plug and plug.. no software needed with windows 10, it has a built-in mic. as I said it was working fine a couple days ago (make and recieve video chat)
