Specific Wi-Fi network is not showing up

My sister used to be able to connect to our home Wi-Fi. However, the Wi-Fi name no longer shows up in the list of possible networks to connect to. Other devices all show the SSID and are able to connect.Computer is running Windows 7 Professional.Router is XB7-T.Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter. Have logged into the router through another PC and both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks are active.

    :)

Wi-Fi does not show up in 'Networking & Internet'

There is no mention of 'Wi-Fi' in this selection screen!

This screen indicates only 'Airport Mode' and no 'Wi-Fi'.

It gets kind of difficult to follow some of the suggestions I have read regarding this issue without having the first step many of them mention. Have read various solutions and those that I can try I have with no luck. This seems to be a common problem for many users. I my original book from Verizon FIOS it has indicated my router IP address as: 192.168.1.1. This seems to have disappeared. I now see only an IPv4 IP with no mention of the original number.

I note that it also has an assignment of "LIKELY DYNAMIC IP". Could this be the problem with my geo-location issue??? Perhaps linked to that which I posted earlier about a similar matter. I am again wondering if the addition of an internal Wi-Fi network card would correct this problem as my M/B has no 'Wi-Fi' chip. It looks like somehow I have managed to get two problems (although possibly linked) here in this post. SORRY! and THANKS!!

Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

    Please follow these steps:

    • Click the Windows logo.
    • Go to Settings (gear icon).
    • Select Network and Internet.
    • Then Wi-Fi.
    • Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
    • Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Update us with the outcome so we provide further assistance.
