Windows 10: Spectrum email password change

I am using the Windows Mail that came with my relatively new computer which has Windows 10 installed. I changed my Spectrum email password with Spectrum and I can use it fine to see my email when I log onto their site. However, I went through the process of changing my email password on my Windows 10 computer and even though it says it will remember the new password it does not. It always reverts to the old password that I originally had for my Spectrum email on this computer. Is the old password in some type of permanent memory in Windows 10 with no possibility of changing it? I have tried de

Email clients not remembering passwords

Hi all

A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

It returns with incorrect password.

Any suggestions?

 

Can not get Windows 10 from changing my email password when I set up my email account

After working on this issue for 9 hours, 1 1/2 on chat with Microsoft--no help or answer, I decided to take laptop back to Best Buy. A supervisor in Computers tried typing in password and saving and also saw it changed from 8 char to 16. He talked to a
GEEK supervisor and he was well aware of the issue. Nothing can be done because Spectrum, Yahoo and other email providers can not sync with Windows 10 even though Spectrum has steps to do. I have to use Edge to co to the Spectrum web site to get my email.
You think after 2 1/2 years this issue would be resolved by it is a Catch-22. Windows says there is no issue. So that is it. I kept my HP laptop and had to place a link to Spectrum on the Task Bar and sign in each time to Spectrum Mail.

Your email is changing the password on it's own? That is not normal or correct. I would recommend changing your email and Spectrum account passwords to something unique. If the problem continues, contact Spectrum.
