Windows 10: Speech recognition for transcribing audio

Speech recognition in Windows 10 becomes quite good after a while.

How do I transcribe given audio files with speech recognition of Windows 10 into text offline?

I tried running the Windows speech Recognition, and then I played an audio file(M4) for a human's speech sound(screenshot below). However, I didn't see the speech sound was transcribed with special phonetic letters(text) which will be the exact written copy
of the speech sound. Even when I speak to the MIC while Windows Speech Recognition is running, I didn't see that my speech sound was transcribed with text.

So, what benefit is there from that Windows speech recognition if I don't have an exact written copy of what was said in a speech sound?. I need app to help me transcribe some person's speech sounds with text to be
used as subtitles, closed captions





I think that Windows Speech Recognition is only dedicated to execute the commands available in Windows, such as 'Turn off the PC, restart, run app, etc.' However, if I need to speak to the "Windows Speech Recognition" or play "an already Audio file", then
the Windows Speech Recognition won't transcribe the sound with text?

I would suggest you to follow the steps to see Advance speech options.

• Press Windows+X key on the keyboard
• Click on control panel
• Select speech recognition
• On the left hand pane you will see Advance speech option

Is there a way to get Speech Recognition to transcribe into any app?

It seems strange that Windows Speech recognition doesn't actually replace the keyboard. I cannot, for example, type text into any application, only into certain Microsoft applications like Word.

I recognize that this may be a "marketing strategy," but is there any way around this? I'd really like to be able to transcribe large volumes of text into other applications. The only other speech to text engine available to me is Dragon, which is,
frankly, worse than useless and is miles behind MS Speech Recognition.
