Windows 10: Speech Recognition

I have a speech to text programme as part of my Windows 10I have been able to " test" the microphone....the coloured bars seem to move in some kind of synchronisationI click up word pad and make sure that the cursor is flickering as it should at the top left hand side.And then, in spite of my dictating as clearly as I can, the cursor does not move at all as if Word pad doesn't know that it is being spoken to by the speech to text program.As quite a newcomer to computing, I cannot see where I have gone wrong, or what I am leaving out.Any enlightenment would be welcomeSam

I would suggest you to follow the steps to see Advance speech options.

• Press Windows+X key on the keyboard
• Click on control panel
• Select speech recognition
• On the left hand pane you will see Advance speech option

Try the following steps to uncheck the Run Speech Recognition at startup option from the Speech Recognition:

• Type Speech Recognition in the search bar and select the Speech Recognition from the list.
• Click on the Advanced speech options from the left pane.
• Uncheck mark on Run Speech Recognition at startup.
• Click on Apply and Ok.
