    Speeding Up Windows Defender Scan on Windows 10 Home 64bit


    Is it Possible to speed up Windows Defender Full Scan? Avast Scans fast on my 8 Core system, and yet Windows Defender takes 3-4 hours minimum on my 8 Core System, with 2tb hard drive, Longer if external drives are connected

    Should I just deal with it til I do my clean install prior to Anniversary update later this summer?

    Windows Defender Scans

    Previously was on Windows 7 Home Office Edition using Windows Defender

    2 Possible issues with Windows 10 Defender

    1) Full Manual Scan taking a long long long time

    1 hour in and it's only scanned 149000 items

    (maybe a 1st time scan here is the issue

    2) Cannot set up an automated scan (maybe that's to be expected with 10)

    It takes about four hours for Defender to do a deep scan on my three partitions.
