Windows 10: Splice Desktop App not working

Hi,


I am trying to run a desktop app called splice,


I have installed the app and that the installation seems to work fine, the problem comes when I try and run the app. On opening the app a blank white box pops up and doesn't disappear, the app never opens but the Splice app icon appears in the icon box and the app appears to be running but not displaying.


I have spoken to the team at Splice and tried everything that they have suggested with no luck, I think this is more of a Windows 10 problem then a Splice app problem. I have tried the following: Uninstalling and installing the app again, restarting my pc several times, turning off my computer security and firewall will trying to run the app, checking for windows updates and still nothing.


Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. *Smile

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Dragging apps to desktop for shortcuys

It's possible that some settings are preventing you from adding shortcuts to the desktop. We'd like to learn more about your concern so that we could provide the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:

• Which build version of Windows 10 is on your computer? To check, click
  Start, type winver, and press Enter. For example, 14393.1066.
• Does this happen when you try dragging all apps to the desktop, or just a specific app?
• Are you using an administrator account?
• Is your computer connected to a private domain?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

As an initial recommendation, we suggest following these steps as a workaround:

• Right-click on any empty part of the desktop.
• Click New > Shortcut.
  
• Navigate to the folder location of the app you want and select it.
• Click OK.
