Windows 10: splwow.exe query

Discus and support splwow.exe query in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; My granddaughter was over to do some homework a couple days ago and I notice today that splwow.exe is still running using 12.5 % of CPU.     My granddaughter was over to do some homework a couple days ago and I notice today that splwow.exe is still running using 12.5 % of CPU. This is easy to stop, just log out and back in but is there another way to get this file to stop after it is used all by itself?
    edit...I do have the latest drivers for my printer.

    Wiindows 10 Creators update - Virtual memory issues

    The splwow.exe seems to be a file for a virtual printer. We'd like to confirm if you have a virtual printer. If so, you can disable it and see if error will persist.

    Should there be anything else, feel free to let us know.

    windowsphone for desktop app how to download

    When I try to download the app Windowsphone app for desktop, it hangs on 10% downloaded forover an hour.I have cancelled the download and tried to re-do it on just the pc without the phone plugged in,but now it gives no progress. What are the instructions
    on how to download this, please? Should I save it to the pc and then connect the phone, connect then download, run then connect, connect then run, then save??? It is not intuitive!

    Hi rfrharbin,

    I found this:
    I'm not sure if this was for the same .exe you were asking about, however it does mentioned printing, so I'm assuming so. The reason I say this is because the file name is a bit off and I did note that you actually have two different ones listed, (splwow.exe / syswow.exe) however I'm guessing that was a typo?

    So, it sounds as if you can disable it if you wanted to, however this might affect some printing down the line.

    Yes that is the file. It will stay on until I shutdown or log off and I am hoping someone will know how I can encourage the file to close itself after one is done using it. The collage forces my granddaughter to use Firefox to access their servers so she is using a 32 bit program to print on my 64 bit computer. And my drivers are all up to date. I just checked them a while back.
