  1. Spotify: Incorrect images loading for Local Files?

Edit: the problem has been solved! Since the Album tag for every song was "Local Files", Spotify was using the same image for songs with the same Artist tag (obviously thinking that 'Artist - Local Files' was one album, so it used the same image for all songs by the same artist despite the songs having different images)

I've recently downloaded a series of MP3s, and I've provided them with ID3 tags for Artist, Name and Album, as well as them all having different Album Arts (using Mp3tag). I've just enabled Local Files on Spotify and it's loaded all of my files, and it's able to play everything while displaying the correct info for Artist, Name and Album. It also displays the image for what I'm playing, but unfortunately it's displaying the incorrect image for recurring artists, as I'll explain below.

The problem is that when I play my local files, the image shown by Spotify seems to be dictated by the 'artist' tag. Spotify will use the same 1 image for all the songs with the same 'artist' tag, despite each of the songs actually having different images.

(Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/Z9C1DX4.png) As shown in the screenshot, I am playing Fargo by VI Seconds, but Spotify is showing the incorrect image. In the folder to the right, I have highlighed the images for Fargo and #PoppinChallenge. Spotify is currently using the #PoppinChallenge image for Fargo, despite the songs having different images, and of course this is incorrect.

I have several songs where the artist is "VI Seconds", and all of these songs have different images tagged to them. However, because #PoppinChallenge is the first of my songs (sorted alphabetically) with VI Seconds as the artist, Spotify is using the #PoppinChallenge image for all of my songs with VI Seconds as the artist, so this includes Fargo (shown in the screenshot) and many more. Obviously this is a problem and I would much like Spotify to show the correct image for the correct song at all times, despite having recurring artist tags.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? All help appreciated, thanks in advance.

(Really hope I can get this sorted but if not I'll just have to do without album arts. Could this be a result of the apostrophe glitch? Cos the arts are still displaying, just the wrong ones for recurring artists on local files)

Edit: the problem has been solved! See top of post.

  2. Spotify will not load images on Windows 10

Okay, I have never used the Community forums before so hope I cover all the bases...

I have a problem with Spotify not loading images on a recently purchased Lenova Ideapad 320 running Windows 10. I have contacted Spotify and their tech team is supposedly working on it (although they will not provide progress reports) but I am also concerned
that the issue could possibly be related to my computer.

I noticed just over a week ago that Spotify, although everything else worked properly, would not load images (cover art, artist photos, etc.). Not only did the desktop app not load images, they would also not load on websites that utilize their iFrame imbeds.
I got this version of Spotify through the Windows Store but when I went to the Spotify download page to attempt a clean re-install I found the page looking like this:

Spotify: Incorrect images loading for Local Files? 12563406-f9fe-475f-a991-363837e5d830?upload=true.jpg

...as it turns out all of the pages in the Spotify domain are similarly stripped. As for the photo, it's my current facebook profile. Spotify is linked to facebook in all sorts of ways but my account there is NOT through facebook. Needless to say I was not
able to download the program from the website.

I thought to download using a set up file from July 17 that I still had on another computer. It would not initiate.

I tried a System Restore from a point before the problem began but the Restore was not successful and I got a message that said it failed to replace the AppData from Spotify with it's original copy from the restore point. I looked through some of the folders
earlier this evening and the one labelled AppData is empty.

The images fail to load on 2 PCs (one using Windows 7), 2 iPhone 6s (one on a different account), a Kindle Fire HDX Android tablet as well as the Spotify Web Player. Curiously I have an old iPhone 3 that seems to not have been affected and loads images fine).
Spotify worked on those iPhone 6s when using cellular data but not Wi-Fi. Consequently I suspected the problem was with Windstream, my ISP, so I took my phone next door and connected it to his Wi-Fi. Images did not load there, either. Normally that would have
been enough for me to eliminate it as a potential source of the problem except that my neighbor also uses Windstream and I'm guessing there's a good chance he's in the network. So it could possibly be a network issue, but why only one site? I attempted to
use their support chat feature but for some reason it wasn't working.

The only program/app I installed prior to having this problem was Dash Lane password protection which I didn't care for and had uninstalled within 24 hours. It was a couple of days afterward that I had the trouble with Spotify.

That's just about all the info I think I can offer. As I said, Spotify supposedly has their tech team on it. The more I think about it the more I lean towards the problem residing with my ISP but I'm posting here because I wanted to cover all my bases. If
it's something to do with the computer perhaps someone here can offer some guidance, or at the very least maybe get some feedback about where the problem originates.

    Thanks.
