Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Adapter drivers not working properly on Windows 10 x64

The newest version of the Windows driver for the NetXtreme adapter is 220.0.13.0, but like Greg Carmack writes, you should always get network adapter drivers from your computer's manufacturer. That's because computer manufacturers frequently use customized hardware. You should only use Broadcom's own driver if you installed one of their retail adapters yourself.

In any case, a newer driver won't make your network run faster. New drivers are published either to fix bugs or to make the hardware compatible with new use cases.

BTW: The Broadcom drivers that Windows Update delivers come from Broadcom. Microsoft doesn't have the proprietary knowledge or the legal right to create drivers for other manufacturer's hardware.

I'll leave it to your employer to decide whether they will permit employees to install software on their computers.

Your drivers should come from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model from sticker on PC.

While there check for the latest Chipset, BIOS, Sound, Network, USB3, Bluetooth and all other drivers to compare with the version/date installled for that device in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

If there is no working driver and it's this adapter then follow these steps to locate driver and get it working:

Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller: Driver initialization fail

I went to device manager and uninstalled the Broadcom NIC. Then scanned for hardware changes and it reinstalled and has been working since. I do, however, have to disable and enable my wireless adapter every time I open my laptop, to get wireless to connect. Fixes are in the works I hear.
