Windows 10: SSD 4hr Restart time ??

Hello .

On behalf of my son I am asking for help.

He recently had some updates and a fresh install of windows done by " an expert" { No Key given }.

When he boots up his PC first thing in the morning its fairly quick ie 20 seconds. However if he restarts the PC , the last few times it has taken anywhere from 2 to 4 hrs to load up fully .


Obviously we have tried to get hold of supposed expert who did come round restarted it and after 2 mins when it hadnt loaded he left and now cannot get hold of him.

If anyone has any ideas of what it could be your help would be much appreciated .

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Is my SSD dead?

It happened about a month ago so I'm can't remember the exact details of how it died. I think I restarted the PC and the message was there I had no OS. Today I popped in my mirrored HD and was up running. I hocked up the SSD and restarted the PC but no sign of the SSD. Power is on (Zalman “hot swap” case has a power LED for each disk). I tried to find it in DOS but the drive is no where to be found. Any suggestions for a next step? It 1½ month past RMA but the important thing is to retrieve some of the files.
