Windows 10: SSD disk appear as RAW

Hi, I posted this in the windows 7 forum before realizing there's a separate forum for windows 10. I got a cloudflare error after posting, so not sure if it was successful. In that case, sorry for double posting, the one in Win7 forum can be removed. While I sat at my computer today I suddenly realized some of my folders (on my Samsung SSD) were empty while others where inaccessible. Maybe some that appeared empty at first also became inaccessible when I tried to open again, but I'm not sure about that. I rebooted the computer, hoping that would resolve the issue. After rebooting the disk appears as a RAW partition. I'm not 100% sure which file system it had, but I suppose NTFS. After reading another thread where a used had similar problems, I tried some of the applications suggested by Jumanji. Any suggestions to how to proceed with recovering the partition? Would be great if it could be recovered without having to restore all files to another drive, or in any case with a free tool.

Save RAW drive - Don't want data


Open Admin command prompt, then type:

1. diskpart
2. list disk ======> Take note of disk # of the RAW drive
3. select disk # ======> is the number in step 2
4. clean
5. exit

Open Disk Management and initialize it, Create Simple, format.

 

Disk listed as RAW

After windows 10 pro update, my boot drive disappeared. I started with installation disc and went into recovery command prompt. With “Diskpart” I viewed the disks on my pc and my boot disk was listed as RAW, after exiting diskpart, I run chkdsk /f on that
drive and it was readable again, however, after restart the drive went back to RAW.
I tried this several times and after every reboot the drive goes back to RAW.

How can I fix this permanently?

 

My CDROM is suddenly showing as RAW

Hi All,

I don't know how or why but Windows 10-Pro stopped recognizing anything I put into my CD Drive even though it was shown in Disk Mgmt as healthy.

I found out that a RAW Disk can't be recognized by Windows, so I tried multiple suggestions I read about and kept getting something to the effect of "Windows can't do anything with a protected drive". In Disk Management it lists Disks 0 - 9 and then CD-ROM
0, In Disk Part it lists Disks 0-9 also but no CD. When I list Volumes in Disk Part it lists 0-14, with 0 being DVD-ROM with RAW file system.

How can I reformat the CD drive when Windows tells be it can not access the disk?
