Hello, My name is Nitish My laptop name is Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15IKB I had recently downloaded Valorant in my laptop and started to play it there was an error it's so that in this version you need to enable secure boot then I Searched the fix in YouTube. In YouTube, they said that we shouldn't enable secure boot in Bios to fix it. I instantly navigated to My Bios and Unfortunately had no Secure Boot Option. Then again I searched through YouTube and found that I should change the Boot Mode from Legacy Mode to UEFI MODE.I went into my bios and changed the Legacy Mode to UEFI MODE and to my surpri

Legacy or UEFI Boot mode for new SATA SSD?

If I change the boot mode for my new SSD from Legacy to UEFI, will there be any problem with my old HDD as it was configured with Legacy boot mode? Will it get detected by the system or not? Or any other issues?

    UEFI vs Legacy boot mode

I just found out I'm running at "Legacy" boot mode.
Are there any downsides running my Skylake system in "Legacy" boot mode?

I don't really want to reinstall windows.
Also I have no problems with my SSD, speeds are as they should be.

Just booting up my system takes some time, maybe it just would be faster booting with UEFI?
My Asus Gaming laptop is booting up faster.
If thats the main difference *Oh Well SSD Doesn't Show when i change boot mode from legacy to UEFI. :eek:hwell:

Legacy or UEFI Boot mode for new SATA SSD?

Hello!! I am using a Lenovo V310 14ISK laptop which is set to Legacy boot mode by default. Now I want to install a SATA SSD in place of my old HDD and use it as a boot drive while keeping HDD in the DVD drive bay and use it for storing photos, videos etc.

So will I have to change the boot mode from Legacy to UEFI before installing Windows on SSD? Or I can keep the default settings i.e Legacy boot and install Windows on SSD?

Also what should be the partition style for new SSD? MBR or GPT?

Can anyone please clear my doubts regarding these points so that I can do a smooth Windows installation on my new SSD.
