Windows 10: SSD Drive C and Drive D compressed: FLASE. What does this "false" mean here, and is it good...

Hello,When I use Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and check my storage Samsung SSD Evo 970 Plus, I see this screen below.I wonder if it is fine or something goes wrong.C:Compressed: FALSED:Compressed: FALSEPLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS FALSE.Thank you a lot.

compressing c: drive?

i've always wondered what would happen if i selected the compress disk option for my c: drive. i have never done it with anyother drives before, so i dont know what will happen. so does anyone know what would happen if i compressed my c: drive? would windows still work? this is probably a stupid question hahaha

 

Files in C: drive automatically compressing?

As you may already know, if this feature is on, every new folder/file you add starts off automatically compressed. If you would like to turn it off for the whole drive, kindly follow these steps:

• Start File Explorer . In the left pane, right-click on the drive that you would not want to be compressed.
• Click Properties.
• Make sure that the Compress this drive to save disk space box is unchecked.
• Click OK then Apply.

Is "compress OS Drive" worth it on SSD?

My SSD is running out of disk space, and I see that "Compress your OS drive" is suggested as a means to save some disk space.





My questions:

1. I'm not sure whether there are any performance penalty associating with compressing the OS drive.
   
2. And I'm not even sure whether this option is the same with "Compress this drive to save disk space" at the C drive property as per below. This option does seem to come with performance penalty.
