    SSD Drive is NOT accessible after Windows 10 update (1511)


    Hi,

    After nice Windows update I cant access my second SSD drive with the following message "Can't access drive, The device is not ready." If i rollback the whole system SSD to previous Windows version with Acronis backup utility the drive works like charm. If i try to format it with Acronis Disk Director I get the following message Disk Write Error, Run check disk.

    Check disk give following message:

    C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk g:
    The type of the file system is RAW.
    CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.

    Any suggestions how to bring it back to life?

    KB3176493 continuously fails

    Turned off Norton and ran the troubleshooter, but no luck. Same issue after restart. Fatal error posted originally and windows update history message is Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3176493) failed. If it is of
    any consequence, I am using an SSD as the C drive with windows on the SSD, but I use the D drive as my primary drive for downloads.

    Windows 10 November update failed to install and caused windows not to start

    Thanks for the the reply. I updated my original post and solved my problem.

    Basically the windows 10 1511 update caused my SSD to go into a "frozen" state and it had to be reset using the samsung magician software. After doing this the drive behaved like normal.
